Wesley took me (and my friend Small Butt Bear) on another elevator adventure this past weekend! On Saturday we went to the Palisades Mall in West Nyack, NY. It’s a big crowded scary mall but they have elevators! The ones in the main part of the mall are beautiful Montgomery Kone traction elevators with glass on three sides – you can see the whole mall, and the cables and counterweights moving. Very cool — which is more than we can say for the deathtrap Schindler MT we rode at Lord and Taylor.
Here’s a video of our day, with most of the elevators brought to you in a beautiful split screen multicamera presentation. The intro is pretty cool too — we shot it in front of the blue bedsheet that we bought at the mall, to make use of something Wesley’s dad calls “chroma key.” I like it!
